Sunshiny! can you believe this??

so, phil and i discussed his physical therapy and decided to rejoin the Project Walk program.
we went up to carlsbad (about an hour drive) for the initial assessment.  they are in the same plaza, but a new building  this is the very first sign as we walked in the front door!

the physical therapist, Jimmy, met us at the door with a big ole smile and ready to get to it.  i told him about the #sunshiny award and he said, "coincidence? I think not!"

right away i LOVE the guy!!...

we sat outside the project walk building, due in for the assessment, phil exhausted, just sort of feeling, "what the heck?"  pay a boatload of $$ for what? if the new melanoma therapy doesnt work.

well, good gracious, what a fantastic, sunshiny hour that was!  they just get it.  PT is great with the standard PT, but its really not addressed gait and mobility.  right away jimmy is describing exactly what happened last time phil went there.  just reawakening the neuro pathways and memory of his legs.

ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

so, pretty much decided: continuing with local PT x 2 week  w/ ella, who is 5 min away and really works on stretching, core, etc

and then to project walk x 2 a week

in addition to that, the adaptive basketball x a week for 3 hours each session, really is a cardiorespiratory workout that everyone needs and phil hasn't been able to get in a long time.  just comes home sweaty and finally able to have that after workout endorphin rush.

phil and jimmy, this guy was just too adorable.  look close in the mirror. they are in the middle of assessing something while phil was on his belly, and then jimmy just got up there next to him to keep asking questions.
